Highlights from Bombay Cartel
Dropped in for a relaxed lunch at Bombay Cartel in Gold and Diamond Park. Cozy spot with quick service and a huge all-veg menu that leans fun and flavorful.
Started with the Samosa Chaat (AED 10). Crisp shell, soft potato center, layered with yogurt, chutneys, and spices. The textures played well together: cool, creamy, crunchy. Great balance of sweet and tangy.
For mains, the Paneer Butter Masala Kulcha Combo (AED 18) came piping hot. The paneer was tender, the gravy creamy and slightly sweet with a mild chili warmth. Kulcha was soft and charred just right. Comforting and rich without being heavy.
Also had the Cheese Bhaji Pav (AED 17). The bhaji was buttery and bold, loaded with mashed veggies and spice. The extra cheese melted into the mix and turned it into something indulgent. Pav buns were fluffy and toasted.
Dessert was simple Gulab Jamun (AED 5). Warm, syrupy, and just the right size. Melted in the mouth.
To drink, I went with a Kala Khatta Mojito (AED 14). Tart, icy, with a tangy hit of black salt and berries. Ended with a Hot Masala Chai (AED 5) that was spiced just right and not overly milky.
Plenty of heart in the cooking here. Nothing fancy, just solid, satisfying food. Worth a stop for anyone craving bold Indian flavors with a street food soul.
